Well, I had my second round of bladder surgery on Wednesday. All went well and I went home with my catheter bag in tow. As part of the surgery, I have an incision similar to a c-section where they implanted the adjustable sling housing. It was put under the muscle so my abdomen is extremely tender. Yesterday, we went to the dr to have the catheter removed, the sling adjusted, and the adjuster knob removed. He removed the catheter, but wanted to wait one more day before removing the knob. I went home to sleep. After not being able to relieve the bladder for four hours, we headed back to the dr in excruciating pain. I looked like the hunch back from Notre Dame. I couldn't stand up; the pain was so intense. So, the catheter got put back in for the night. This morning I was able to remove the catheter, go the bathroom on my own! YAY! I know TMI. Anyway, the dr adjusted the tension, removed the knob, and hopefully, I am on my way to recovery. I get the staples removed from my incision on Tuesday. I feel pretty good considering. Thanks to Dr. Cahoon for fixing my octogenarian bladder.

Hope you have a quick recovery. Any surgery is no fun.
