Sunday afternoon, we headed up the canyon with a cooler full of lunch, a full tank of gas, and a mommy ready to see the fall leaves. Fall is my favorite season. It is when I got engaged, when the air turns crisp, when my heart takes a big sigh and relishes the beauty of all around me. I LOVE IT!
We drove up Squaw Peak and saw this off to our right. Seriously? Could this be my land please? Picture my cabin right by those red trees.
The colors were absolutely breathtaking.
We got the kids out and went on an excursion through "my land."
I can't get over how awe inspiring it is to be in the mountains. I kept thinking of the words of "My Heavenly Father Loves Me." Porter and I sang it together as we walked.
Porter was quite the great trail guide. He just took off through the grasses and blazed his own trail.
It really was the perfect day. Conference was wonderful and so was all of the beauty around me.
I love these two little people so much. They were awesome and definitely got the "Jeep" gene from their daddy. They love to be off-roading, and bumping right along.
Davy took me up to the Provo River Falls 10 years ago to ask me to be his. Oh how glad I am that he did. We have such a wonderful life together and the best marriage. How did I get so lucky?
The only damper to the day was the flat tire we ended up with in Springville after we made our way down Hobblecreek Canyon. We drove across the mountain from Squaw Peak to the Hobblecreek side. 4 hours of pure fun, especially after Davy made me an impromtu toilet seat to relieve my bladder. An Eagle Scout in my book Honey! I told Davy that since we listened to Conference, we made it a gas station with the flat instead of being stuck on the mountain. All things considered, it was a great day!
