Heading up the Canyon

When I was a little girl, we spent many summer nights up Provo Canyon. I have so many memories of riding in the back of my dad's blue chevy pickup with my two brothers and sisters. Many times we ended at Canyon Glen Park with a bucket of chicken, and the good times ensued. I want more than anything for Porter and Khloe to have fond memories of their childhood spent as a family, as I have from mine.

So last night, we headed to Canyon Glen Park with chicken from KFC. We had a wonderful time together.

We ate and enjoyed the cooler canyon weather. Can I just say, the canyon smells so wonderful. There is nothing like being able to drive 20 minutes from home and be in the mountains. It is amazing.

Last summer, this was something I longed to do. Well, now I can cross it off of the list. At least, until next week.

I love my kids!

Davy and I drove up the canyon listening to Brad Paisley's new cd, "American Saturday Night." There were at least 3 songs on it that made me think of how much I love him and our two babies. I am so blessed to be his wife and their mother. Thanks to Brad for the good reminders.

Porter loved the river and wanted to know if Nemo lived in the river. We had to tell him that Nemo lives in the ocean, but there are plenty of fish in the Provo River. Of course, he asked why? We are in the midst of the "why" stage. Those of you with toddlers, can definitely relate to the toll the questioning takes on a mommy throughout the day.

Although she hasn't mastered "Dada" yet, she definitely loves her daddy.

My favorite thing to see, Davy and the kids.

She's standing! (With a little help from Mommy)

We had a wonderful evening and can't wait for the next time we can have a picnic up the canyon.

What a sweet family! Porter and Khloe are precious. I miss those Utah mountains and driving just 15 minutes to get to beautiful Sundance. Sigh. Thanks for the pics!

How fun! Can I just tell you how much I love you dear friend and how grateful I am for you!! Thank you so much for dinner...couldn't have come on a better night. Kurt wont be home til at least 8:30, so instead of having to cook and worry about Preslie, we enjoyed every bite of the pizza! We love you guys and are so thankful for that wonderful day almost 10 months ago when we made friends for life! Love the pics...we'll have to picnic this summer...we LOVE getting out! xo
